The girls have worked so hard over the last 3 years and now the women who run the Golden Eagles and the rec teams want to split them up. I am sorry but I believe that the girls deserve to play together and not be split up. This is a highly competive team and they should stay together. York's other teams have no structure to them. Every year girls are put on a different team and then expected to know what the other girls are doing. The coaching on the teams change yearly and the coaching isn't consistant. The rec teams should also not be 9 and under, once the girls are done with t-ball they should not be 6 or 7 playing on a field with 9 or 10 year olds. The safe haven law in Nebraska has it flaws and needs to be corrected accordingly. But in the process the use of our "Safe Haven Law" has brought to light the much needed attention for reform of HHS and it's departments. First off please don't call these parents lazy. Have you ever thought that some of these parents are at their wits end in trying to help these kids out? I know first hand to raise a child with behavioral and mental issues. My son has both, and after trying therapists and pschiatrists, meds and med switches nothing was helping. I wouldn't call myself a lazy parent, I work I come home to my kids. I am not out bar hoppin and having a good time on the weekends. My weekends are spent with my kids. But let me tell you about my weekends. I have wound up with broken chairs, a broken couch, busted doors, holes in my walls because I have a son that is out of control. More meds different meds doesn't matter the behavior is the same. All those programs they talk about? I went to DHHS about 2 years ago asking, okay begging for help. I knew I was about at the burn out stage and my other kids are suffering because I can't get my sons behaviors under control. Almost at the 2 year mark I finally get approved for help, partially because in a meeting I had made a comment about the Safe Haven Law. When your child is not a priority 1 as they call it, they are literally not a priority. So, yes I agree there needs to be a better system in place for these parents that do need help, not because we are lazy.<br /> The age limit? Some of these parents are not even out of the hospital in 2 or 3 days. Look at all the attention most mothers get right after having a baby? That is if the mother gets to go home with the baby, there are many mothers that are locked up for months after their baby is born. What about them.
