Rental rates
- City auditorium
In the city auditorium, groups can rent the 72 feet by 100 feet main floor, the 71 feet by 21 feet North Dining Room, and in the basement the 100 feet by 72 feet USO Room, and the 24 feet by 10 feet Saddle Club Room. Also for rent are three 15 feet by 15 feet offices, first floor and basement kitchens and a P.A. system.
Rental fee for the main floor is $250 a day for a local non-profit event, $400 for a local profit event, $600 a day for out-of-county sponsors, $500 for a non-profit function with alcohol, $600 a day for a profit function with alcohol. The clean up and set up fee is $100. A damage deposit of $200 is required and will be refunded if there is no damage.
Rental fee for the North Dining Room is $25 a day.
Rental fee for the USO Room is $150 a day and $250 a day for events with alcohol.
Rental fee for the Saddle Club Room is $25 a day.
The water offices are available for rent for $15 a day.
The former council chambers are occupied by the York Children’s Museum. Rental fee for the offices is $10 a day for local sponsors and $20 a day for out-of-county sponsors.
Kitchens can be used for $50 a day with no furnishings plus a refundable $50 which will be returned when the sponsor cleans up. For use of utensils and place settings, the fee is $15 a day for the first 300, $15 a day for the next 200 and $15 a day for the next 100.
To sell concessions, sponsors must pay 10 percent of net profit to the city with a $10 a day minimum fee. If concessions are sold, no food is to be brought in by spectators.

- Community Center
The Community Center in York has a gymnasium, racquetball court, handball court, squash court, a weight room, indoor swimming pool, a whirlpool, and a game room with ping-pong, pool tables, and video games, and meeting rooms. Buiding rental fee is $125 a day (plus labor costs and damage deposit) during non-business hours. The monthly family membership rate is $45, with the annual youth rate being $55. Adult annual rate is $175, with college annual rate at $75.

- Family aquatic center
The FAC may be rented after hours (8-10 p.m.) for $250. Season household membership is $120, with season youth at $40. Season adult is $75. Coupon books are available — 10 tickets, youth/senior 1 ticket, adult 2 tickets — for $20.

- York Senior Center
The York Senior Center is available for rent at $125 for the main floor. To rent the kitchen is an additional $25. If liquor is served, the cost for the main floor is $225. There are varying prices for non-profit and profit organizations, as well as deposits.

- Kilgore Memorial Library
The library has two individual rooms that can open up into one large meeting room that can seat about 100 people. The rooms are available at no fee to non profit groups or non-profit activities during library hours. If meetings run outside regular hours, groups are charged $5 to open early or to close late. The library has between 30 to 40 meetings a month, so it is encouraged to make arrangements early.

other city services

- York Police Department and York County Sheriff’s Office.
The York Police Department will make vacation checks at no cost on request. Arrangements should be made ahead of time. Officers making checks will go by the residence once a day to ensure security.
Officers from the department can provide various safety programs at no fee on request to area schools, businesses or service organizations. Past programs have included drug and alcohol, bicycle safety, shoplifting prevention, self protection and other areas. Contact the police department at 363-2640 for additional information.
Photocopies of accident reports for insurance purposes are $1 per copy. They are $2 per copy if mailed.
The York County Sheriff’s office also provides safety and awareness programs upon request, and provides accident reports for $2, and provides vacation checks in the county. The Sheriff’s Office can be contacted at 362-4927.

- The York Fire Department
The firefighters provide various safety programs at no fee on request to area schools, businesses or service organizations. Past programs have included fire safety, fire drills, chemical safety, fire extinguisher demonstrations and station tours. Contact the fire department at 363-2610 for additional information.
