August is a time of excitement, as the York County Fair boasts so many activities — the only complaint is whether one person can see everything in one weekend.

At the fairgrounds, located on the northern edge of York, just east of North Lincoln Avenue, 4-H and open class displays include everything from livestock to art to horticulture to baking. Products, crafts, demonstrations and booths dot the fairgrounds continuously during the three-day event.

Activities include a carnival, steak fry, a children’s petting zoo, Figure Eight races, live musical presentations, lawn mower races and “Big Top” entertainment.
The week-long event brings thousands of people to York each summer, right before the start of the school year.
